Ghillie Callum Club

The Ghillie Callum Club supports the technique of the New Zealand Academy of Highland and National Dancing,  The Academy syllabus includes:

 

• Traditional Highland  Dances

  • Highland Fling

  • Sword Dance (Ghillie Callum)

  • Seann Triubhas

  • Highland Reel

  • Reel O'Tulloch

• National Step Dances

  • Irish Jig Single Time 

  • Irish Hornpipe

  • Irish Jig Double Time

  • Irish Reel

  • Sailors Hornpipe

There is also a range of non-competative dances taught by club members including:

 

• Flora Macdonald's Fancy

• Irish Lilt

• Scotch Measure

• Trumpet Hornpipe

• Dusty Miller

• Scottish Jig
